My Life Flows On In Endless Song

Mah Kitteh

Since tha intarwebs exist for the purpose of posting pictures of cats, here's a picture of "Isabella Badcat Bauer". Izzy was adopted from "Towncats", a pet shelter and placement agency. She's of uncertain heritage, but by appearance and demeanor, she's got a lot of "Maine Coon Cat" in her family tree.

More Christmas Music in July

Here's one of the American carols I mentioned in the previous post. It's based on an old hymn tune. I've arranged it for SATB choir, bowed psaltery, and autoharp. This audio was generated by Sibelius (music authoring software).

Cradle Hymn

Hush, my babe, lie still and slumber.
Holy angels guard thy bed.
Heavenly blessings without number
Gently steal in on thy head.

How much better art thou attended
Than the Son of God could be
When from heaven He descended
And became a child like thee.

Soft and easy is thy cradle.
Cold and hard the Savior lay,
When His birthplace was a stable
And His softest bed was hay.

Hush, my babe, lie still and slumber.
Holy angels guard thy bed.
Heavenly blessings without number
Gently steal in on thy head.

Christmas Music in July

Here it is, the middle of July, and I'm working on Christmas music. In the queue are some American carols. I'll say some more about those in subsequent posts. Meanwhile, here's an arrangement I did several years ago. This is all live -- no computer trickery here. Every sound is the result of one of my fingers striking a key in real time.
